Think contemporary, soulful, jazz-fuelled, rocking blues and one American artist naturally springs to mind – Robert Cray. For more than three decades this inspirational guitarist, with a voice that's clear as a bell and as smooth as honey, has been entertaining and influencing, both as a solo artist and a high-class collaborator. He makes a rare West Country appearance next month showcasing songs from the latest Robert Cray Band LP – Nothin But Love, as well as treating fans to riches from his back catalogue. The last time he was in this neck of the woods was at Plymouth Pavilions in 2003. Just a very few tickets remain for his show at Truro's Hall for Cornwall on March 4. Now aged 59, Cray has helped to shape the international blues scene since releasing his breakthrough album Strong Persuader in 1986. His creative guitar work has been a dominant force in the genre ever since. With five Grammy Awards, 15 nominations, 16 studio albums, millions of record sales worldwide, and thousands of sell-out performances under his belt, he is one of the greatest guitarists of his generation
