Rural fayre and sheepdog trials set for a summer date in aid of Devon hospice
Devon Country Fayre and English National Sheepdog Trials returns to the grounds of Castle Hill Estate, Filleigh, near South Molton, this summer.
Organisers are hard at work putting together a feast of all things rural with trade stands, demonstrations and events to make the show a real focal point for those with a love of a wide range of country sports, hobbies, crafts and leisure pursuits available in Devon.

The Fayre, from July 19 to 21, donates all its profits to North Devon Hospice.
Food and drink is one area where Devon excels and organisers are working with local producers to put on a truly mouth-watering offering alongside cookery demonstrations.

Ali Hunt, head of fundraising at North Devon Hospice, said she was delighted the event was returning to the area.
"When we first staged the fayre and trials in 2009 it was a real success, with thousands of local people coming to enjoy the weekend," she said. " It also raised significant funds for the hospice.
"This year looks set to be even better and I'm sure the local community will get behind the fayre and the trials. Not only will they enjoy a fabulous day out, they will also be helping North Devon Hospice care for local people affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses."
Alongside the fayre there is plenty of action from the country's elite sheepdog handlers challenging for the accolade of English Champion. One of the organisers, David Kennard of the International Sheep Dog Society, a North Devon sheep farmer, said the sheepdog trials will be packed with action and drama.
"A sport which relies upon the compliance of sheep, and a sheepdog to master them, is always likely to turn up the unexpected. But by 7 o'clock on Sunday evening there will be only one English National Sheepdog champion."
The headline sponsor is once again Mole Valley Farmers, whose headquarters are in South Molton. Keith Ockenden, head of agriculture, added: "This event will be a great day out and tremendous value for money. In addition, all profits will go to North Devon Hospice, which does such excellent work in our community."
Lady Arran of Castle Hill said she was delighted to support the hospice and North Devon by providing a venue: "We are sure this will be a very exciting event for visitors of all ages who love the countryside and would enjoy taking part in such a varied and enjoyable day. Our gardens will be open as well during the event.
"We hope that this forthcoming weekend will attract visitors coming to North Devon for their holidays and will give many visitors a time to remember in North Devon."
