Ruts are so deep they steer your car
Ronald Bray, 83, knows a problem road when he sees one; he used to work for the Highways department.
He told Pete that one section of Forder Valley Road between a roundabout and a petrol station was dangerous.

"The ruts in the road are so bad that the car steers itself," he said. "It's especially dangerous for motorcyclists.
"In the 40mph section there is a terrible dip in the road which has been a problem for years and Delamere Road is horrible."

“These reports are so overstated - and Pothole Pete is a joke. I actually think he does more harm than good by highlighting the trivial. Campaigns of this nature seldom work - viz 'Dusty Bin'.
These are NOT potholes! Yes, such cracks in the road may be an inconvenience but drive accordingly - as you would being mindful of ANY potential hazard. Adjust your driving to the prevailing conditions and you stand more chance of avoiding any problems.
Well surfaced roads or better care for elderly and vulnerable people. Make your choice. Times are hard - you can't have it all, anymore.”

“It's not just the ruts - there are massive dips and a huge pothole to negotiate along Forder Valley Road. All of these have been reported, and the Council have just turned up, dumped a load of tarmac in the huge pothole (which they'd done previously, and which hadn't solved the problem), and nothing has been done about the dip or the ruts. This road needs resurfacing - it's currently an accident waiting to happen.”

“Try using Shakespeare Rd, Honicknowle. The Council put in crossing points and associated rd markings, now cars sometimes park in such a way that you have to go the wrong way round these crossing points. The thin tarmac overlay on the original pink concrete rd has all but disappeared in places, allowing the concrete to show through. This rd should have been re surfaced along it's full length, after the new school was built, as it was ( and still is to a certain extent) the rat run used by the heavy lorries used in the construction. I've seen the repair team come along, couple of dollops of tar to fill the worst holes and that's it. Now most of the rd markings are illegible, and possibly illegal.”

“The rut in Taunton avenue on the junction with Hereford avenue needs sorting as well the amount of times I have to fight it to go straight is irritating as is the state of budshead road, also they could have had a nice picture of a honda civic with Pete instead of a ka ;)”
