SWAGBAG: Police seize stolen paintings in flat raid
STOLEN works of art have been seized by police in raids at two addresses in Torquay.
Now detectives are appealing to the public to help them identify items from the haul in this week's Swagbag.
The paintings were among a substantial number of items found by the South Devon Proactive Unit following the execution of a Theft Act search warrant on Wednesday, January 16.
It is believed much of the property came from burglaries at big country house properties across South Devon over the last year.

Officers conducted simultaneous searches at two flats in the same building at Torwood Gardens.
The raid was carried out as part of Operation Brixton, which targets the handlers of stolen property.
The artwork and other items were seized from one flat and a small amount of suspected controlled drugs at the other.
Detectives say some of the property has already been identified as coming from burglaries from homes.
Officers are investigating the origin of all the property seized and are hoping someone will recognise the paintings shown here.
Swagbag is a weekly feature where police and the Herald Express are successfully working together to try to reunite stolen items with their owners.
Anyone with information relating to this or any other stolen property is asked to call DC Simon Sherwood at the Unit on 01803 841614
