Safety news is in hardware shop
USEFUL community safety information is now being displayed in the centre of Crediton High Street.
A large television screen in the window of Adams Home Hardware store is providing helpful advice and information for Crediton residents and visitors alike.
This includes information about local policing issues, town and district council information, fire safety information, youth services activities and information about agencies that can provide help and support on matters such as domestic abuse.
The service is the brainchild of Councillor Bob Wright, who recently attended a Home Office event for community crime fighters with councillor Phil Bourne.
Through this event, funding for local projects was available and Cllr Wright made a successful application to purchase the messaging equipment.
He said: "I am very aware that we need to get more information to our communities about crime issues and advice on how we can remain one of the safest places in the country to live.
"I am very grateful to Richard and David Adams of Adams Home Hardware for supporting this."
