A SCHOOLGIRL fled a footpath after a man indecently exposed himself.

Police are appealing for help in tracing the man who exposed himself to the 14-year-old on a path known as the "zig-zag path" between Ham Drive and close to Dryburgh Crescent in Ham.

The girl was walking along the path at around 8pm on Monday night when she realised someone had followed her and was close behind her.

She turned to see a man who had come close to her and exposed himself.

The girl fled the scene, running home before telling her parents, who then contacted police.

She described the man as white, around 6ft tall and of medium build.

"He wore a black jacket with the hood pulled up, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers. He also had a scarf pulled up over his mouth and nose. The girl told police she thought the man could be in his 30s by the sound of his voice.
