Searle saves two pens in defeat
CREDITON United goalkeeper Mike Searle was unlucky to be on the losing side as he saved two second-half penalties during the defeat to Galmpton United.
Jimmy Williams came closest to breaking the deadlock for the hosts as Kirton squandered several chances. Searle then saved the first of his penalties, but Crediton were made to pay for their first-half misses when Dan Rankin – who missed the spot-kick – notched the first of his double.Robbie Bowker saw Searle block his effort from the spot, before Rankin scored a second with eight minutes left.
"We should have been 3-0 up by half-time but their keeper has played an absolute blinder," said Crediton manager Jon Veale. "Mike Searle then saved two penalties in the second half and that was very good.
"Ben Pike also played well and, if it had not been for Mike's two penalty saves, he would have been man of the match.

"He is usually a right midfielder but because I got let down, he ended up playing up front. I said to his dad and the chairman that he won't be at Crediton next season – a bigger club will come in for him.
"I am massively encouraged though. I do not know how we managed to lose that game."
