Sex offender appeal after woman attacked
A fresh appeal was issued last night for a registered sex offender who has failed to provide police with details of his whereabouts.
Lee Whitting who was deported from New Zealand in 2010, is wanted by Avon and Somerset Police who would like to question him over an incident in Taunton where a woman was assaulted beside a canal.
The appeal was made on BBC1’s Crimewatch programme last night.
Police said Whitting is known to have previously led an itinerant lifestyle, sleeping rough, using tents in wooded areas and also unoccupied caravans.
