Sheep forum has first event
SHEEP farmers are invited to a new national forum for sheep health and welfare which has its inaugural gathering soon.
Farmers can get the latest information on Schmallenberg disease, internal parasites and eradication of sheep scab and an examination of the cost of endemic disease at the event, which will be the first conference of the Sheep Health and Welfare Group, chaired by Devon commercial sheep breeder, Peter Baber.
Participants can learn about emerging diseases like Schmallenberg , from Dutch vet Dr Piet Vellema, and look at early detection and design and implementation of prevention strategies.
The new group is solely funded by Eblex, and is organising the conference on November 21 at Worcester Warriors Stadium, with the National Sheep Association.
