Shoplifter avoids prison term at Plymouth Crown Court
AN ALCOHOLIC who breached a suspended jail term only days after it was imposed has avoided going to prison.
David Warwick, aged 46, stole two bottles of vodka from a supermarket less than a week after he was sentenced for a burglary.
Warwick, of Eight Acres Close in Plympton, admitted theft of vodka worth £36.65 from Waitrose in Saltash on August 5 last year.
He was given an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for a year, for burglary at Plymouth Crown Court the week before.

A previous hearing was told he had taken a laptop computer from another resident's room in a city hostel.
Warwick appeared back at Plymouth Crown Court for sentence.
Deni Matthews, for the defendant, said he was working with agencies and reducing his addiction.
Judge Paul Darlow said Warwick had been doing well on a court order to treat and test his addictions.
He gave him conditional discharges for the theft.
