Shoppers asked to bag it up for charity
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) shops stock donation appeal, the Great British Bag-athon, launched at Drake Circus on Friday 27th September and is now calling for the local community to get involved.
The Great British Bag-athon is BHF shops biggest stock donation campaign, aiming to raise 1 million bags of unwanted things. The Plymouth community is being urged to join in and donate one bag, or many, full of unwanted clothes, shoes, toys, books, CDs, DVDs, etc, and drop it off at the centre until 6th October. After the event in the shopping centre has ended, bags can still be donated to the local BHF shop.
Every bag filled is a bag full of life-saving research. Every penny of profit raised from the bags donated to the Great British Bag-athon will go on to raise vital funds to fight heart disease through pioneering life-saving research.
Greg Lumley, Centre Director at Drake Circus said, "We'd like to encourage everyone in the Plymouth community to join in Britain's biggest bag filling event and help fund life-saving research into heart disease. Simply fill up one bag, or many, and help the BHF fight for every heartbeat."
