Short-listed for award
ABRAHAM Emdon from Torquay Boys' Grammar School has won a place in the final of a competition to find the engineering stars of the future.
The Year 9 student (pictured) has been short-listed in the Bosch Technology Horizons Award.
Finalists in each category will be rewarded with a cash prize while two winners take home the top titles.
Judges commented on the high quality entries which focus on technological innovation relating to the environment and the 2012 Olympics.

The Bosch Technology Horizons Award is designed to show young people that engineering offers a rewarding career path.
There are 14 finalists who had to give an innovative response to an engineering related essay question concerning environmental technology and the impact of engineering on the 2012 Olympics.
Short-listed essays discussing the technological impact of the Olympics discuss issues such as pressure on transport networks during the event and analyse the technology that is providing free Wi-Fi and HD filming throughout the event.
As one of the two schools which submitted the highest number of essays, Torquay Boys' Grammar School will receive an additional hamper of Bosch products worth £500.
