Sign up for basketball
PLAYING basketball with the recently-formed club in Torquay is a good way to get fit and have fun, according to its founder.
Donatas Navoy, who set up Torbay Basketball Club at the end of last summer, said people were very welcome to take part in the sessions as part of their pledge towards the Herald Express Lovelife campaign, which is aimed at helping local people lead fitter, healthier and happier lives.

The 30-year-old NHS administrator said: "I set up the club because I couldn't find a local club suitable for my needs.
"I attended the one in Newton Abbot and the one in Brixham but I didn't enjoy them because they take it seriously and I just want to play and have fun."

Half a dozen of the club's 20 members are keen to play in a basketball league, and Donatas said that if this doubled he would organise a separate session for them so they could train properly.
Donatas also said he would run a separate session for women if there was sufficient demand for it, although women are invited to the weekly sessions already on offer.
He added: "I'm looking for people aged over 16 at the moment, but perhaps in the future we'll expand to offer sessions for children as well."
Torbay Basketball Club is a multicultural organisation that welcomes players of all backgrounds and abilities.
The club plays friendly games every Friday, from 6pm to 7.45pm, at Westlands School.
The cost is £3 per session, or £30 per quarter, which works out at £2.30 per session. This is to cover the cost of hiring the hall.
