THERE'S an opportunity to sing along with the East Cornwall Bach Choir (ECBC) on Saturday next week.

The choir will be at Liskeard Methodist Church spending the whole day rehearsing some favourite choruses, and some less familiar and less-often-performed parts of Handel's Messiah.

ECBC musical director Paul Ellis leads the day, with well-known pianist and organist Jonathan Delbridge supplying the accompaniment and soprano Helen McHale, Penny Schroeter (contralto) and John Hobbs (baritone) providing the solos.

The day starts with registration in the church hall at 10am, where coffee is available, and hired scores can be picked up. The hall is also the venue for lunch between 1 and 2pm. Between 5pm and the public performance at 7pm, light suppers are available at the town's Seasons Café, or Frog Bistro – £6.50 per person, excluding drinks, and bookable in advance.

To join the workshop, or for further details about the day, please visit the ECBC website (www.ecbc.co.uk), or contact the secretary on 01752 846102. The charge for singers is £12 / £8 students, plus music hire (£1) if required. Tickets for the performance (£5) will be available at the door.
