EXETER Tennis Centre's Louis Skupien has thanked his family and team after winning the 10-and-under Winter National Tennis Championships in Cambridge.

In a difficult draw, Skupien beat the No. 1 seed in the semis before defeating No. 2 Barney Fitzpatrick in the final after a championship tie-break.

"The competition was absolutely awesome," said Skupien, who sailed through the regional qualifiers in Exeter without dropping a single game to earn his place in the final.

"It was a very tough tournament and I have worked incredibly hard, but the result at the end was worth it.
