Handmade cosmetics maker Tracy Volkner from St Austell has added to her Chenoa Skincare range a Quilter's Hand Repair cream and a special nourishing oil for sufferers of eczema and psoriasis.

Tracy, who learned volumes about natural skincare after her son suffered severe burns, believes strongly in the healing properties of plant and flower extracts blended with a natural base of oil, such as olive and sunflower oils.

At around £6 for 60ml, her handmade products are also affordable, and she mostly sells them at local fairs and markets. "The Quilter's Hand Repair has organic shea butter, grapeseed, calendula and sunflower seed oil, lavender and geranium," said Tracy. "It is a great soothing balm for hands.

"For skin complaints such as eczema and psoriasis, I use a blend of borage oil, avocado oil, wheat germ oil and essential oils of lavender, tea tree and myrrh.

"Another product for these complaints is the rose moisturiser, which is anti-ageing as well."

Tracy's products are stocked at Coast and Country Crafts in Perranworthal, Barras Moor, Truro.

Tracy will be at the Trereife Christmas craft fair on Saturday and Sunday, and you can also buy her products online at www.chenoaskincare.co.uk.
