The college is again sponsoring the Herald Express South Devon Business Excellence Awards 2013 as an Associate Partner with the Herald Express.

Stephen Criddle, principal of the college, said: "South Devon College has been involved with the Business Excellence Awards for a number of years and regards it as a core element in encouraging and recognising the ambition and success of businesses in the area.

"Businesses are the life blood of our economy, and at the college we play our part in encouraging aspiration and developing talent, providing a pool of skilled individuals to help fuel business success and innovation.

"This year we are sponsoring the 'Young Entrepreneur' category, through which we want to encourage young people locally to be enterprising in all that they do — an attribute which we foster throughout students' learning experience at South Devon College."

The college joins headline sponsors Torbay Development Agency and Torbay Council, and Pavey Group who are sponsors of the Best in Customer Excellence Award.

The Business Advantage centre at South Devon College is also a category sponsors and categories are still available for sponsorship.

Also in partnership with the Torbay Council and the TDA a special Skills Award festival will be staged in the New Year. More details are to be released soon.
