South Sands for sizzling sausages
Food lovers are in for a real treat at The South Sands Hotel in Salcombe, which has teamed up with Devon's leading sausage experts, Cullompton-based Andrew James Butchery, to add three new sausage dishes to the menu, including a 20oz Catherine Wheel-style pork sausage.
This showstopper sausage will be served with gratin potato, roasted red onions, cider gravy and pickled red cabbage and is made using a bespoke recipe created for South Sands' Beachside Restaurant.
The result of a new collaboration between award-winning head chef Stuart Downie and Andrew James has also resulted in a fennel sausage served with spiced lentils and truffle vinaigrette and a 10oz pork, thyme and apple sausage accompanied by a tangle of greens, mushroom salsa and an apple aioli. All the meat comes from Farm Assured UK farms.
