Special hunting camp will give riding techniques and tips for the field
For the first time, Pontispool Equine Sports Centre, near Taunton, will host a "hunting camp" for hunting newcomers and those who would like to gain more experience.
Held over three days from October 20 to 22, the course will involve gridwork and agility exercises, riding techniques and tips for the hunting field.
During the cross country session, riders will be taught how to tackle natural obstacles they may encounter while hunting.
There will be a visit to the Taunton Vale Foxhounds kennels and on the final day, the morning will be spent Autumn hunting, followed by a traditional hunt breakfast.
Two guest speakers will be there to provide the evenings' entertainment.
Organiser Richard Mitford-Slade said: "A lot of people can be quite daunted by the thought of going hunting and this course gives a really good grounding of what to expect as well as introducing the dos and don'ts of hunting.
"All you need to do is bring your own horse and we'll tell you everything you need to know to enjoy a full day's hunting."
The course costs £225 per person and includes tuition, hay, stabling, meals and accommodation and hunting cap.
