Spurned former boyfriend set fire to Ipplepen stables
A SPURNED boyfriend burned down stables in Ipplepen belonging to his former partner, a court has heard.
Warren Wilmot, 36, of Smith Hill, Bishopsteignton, set fire to Street Meadow Stables before catching a taxi from the scene.

Exeter Crown Court was told in the weeks leading up to the arson he had sent abusive text messages to the stable-owner who had ended their relationship.
The messages included threats to kill her horses.

Wilmot pleaded guilty to arson, but the case was adjourned for psychiatric reports after the judge was told the defendant had a history of acting unpredictably when relationships ended.
The incident happened on June 23.
Prosecutor Alexander Allsop said Wilmot set fire to a barn containing six stables. He let out a horse before lighting the match and no animals were harmed. "The defendant and the lady had been in a relationship which she had ended," said the prosecutor.
He sent her abusive text messages claiming he was going to burn down the barn.
One message said: "Barn, matches, bye bye.
"Wilmot went to a garage, bought a container and filled it up with petrol.
"He set fire to the barn then got a taxi from the scene to a friends," said the prosecutor.
Judge Philip Wassell said Wilmot had a history of committing criminal damage to deal with relationship problems.
He said: "It indicates this is repeat behaviour of him acting completely inappropriately, if not dangerously, if things go wrong domestically."
The case was adjourned until March 1.
