St Budeaux is latest Plymouth area to get BT's superfast broadband
ABOUT 10,000 homes and businesses in St Budeaux are to be linked to superfast broadband under the latest instalment of BT's £2.5billion roll-out programme.
The high-speed fibre broadband has already been connected to Plymouth city centre, Crownhill, Devonport, Plympton and Ivybridge.
Plymstock is due to be upgraded later this year.
By spring 2014 nearly 100,000 homes and businesses in and around Plymouth will be plugged in, BT said.

Jon Reynolds, South West regional director, said: "As more than a million households and businesses have already discovered, fibre broadband opens up a new world to internet users."
Plymouth City Council leader Councillor Tudor Evans welcomed the news, saying faster broadband speeds would "give businesses in that area a more competitive edge."
David Parlby, chief executive at Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, added: "Improved digital connectivity is vital to support economic growth in the South West."

“But will we ever see the likes of Arkholme - a tiny village out in the sticks in in Lancashire where people installed fibre broadband themselves after BT said it would be too expensive - and now enjoy a speed of around 950Mbps download and 550Mbps upload???
Nah, we will be lucky to see 10Mbps once it's all shared out - and at a heavy price too”
