A Falmouth shop that was home to celebrity chef Rick Stein's delicatessen has come up for let after closing for business in the summer.

Stein's Deli opened on Falmouth's Discovery Quay in 2010, the same year that Rick Stein's Fish & Chips opened on the waterfront development.

Commercial property agent Alder King has been appointed to market the property; with the option of assigning the remaining 18 years of a 20-year lease to new tenants at £32,000 per annum, or by way of a shorter sub-let.

A spokesperson for Stein's said that it had transferred a range of deli products to its Falmouth restaurant, saying of the Discovery Quay delicatessen business: "It just wasn't working as well for us."

The unit is assigned for any retail use. Alder King associate Tom Duncan said: "This part of Falmouth enjoys very high footfall due to the proximity of the Maritime Museum and the mix of national and independent retailers at Discovery Quay. [It] will be very attractive to any operator looking for quality space in the town."

New Cornwall Developments began the mixed-use Discovery Quay development in 2002. The former deli unit offers 1,296 sq ft of mainly open plan accommodation with a kitchen and ancillary area. An outdoor seating area is also available under a separate licence agreement at £1 per month.
