Steve Tully believes Exeter City are benefiting from a more adventurous approach and hopes the Grecians can carry that into forthcoming npower League Two fixtures.

A change in tactics by manager Paul Tisdale saw the Grecians pick up four points from back-to-back home games against AFC Wimbledon and Fleetwood Town. However, they face a much sterner test with a trip to fourth-placed Bradford City tomorrow followed by a visit to league leaders Gillingham next Tuesday.

"I think it will be a good test for us," Tully said. "There is a lot of travelling to be done, but we will get up there in good time, we'll be nice and relaxed in a hotel and looking forward to the game. I am looking forward to both games.

"Bradford have done well recently, they are up there, there or thereabouts and so are Gillingham, so it will be two big games for us.

"Valley Parade is a really nice ground to play at and so is Gillingham. There should be a big crowd at Bradford, a good atmosphere and they have just had a good Cup result on Tuesday, but we will go up there looking to get a result."

Tully added: "The lads took a lot from the last two games. It wasn't so much the fact we took four points, it was the way we played as well.

"We went with real venom and had more attacking prowess and we peppered the defence, which we haven't done recently.

"That is something the manager has drummed into us in the last few days. He wants us to be more adventurous and let them make the mistakes and be a bit more direct because, when you do that, teams do make mistakes."

Tomorrow, City take on a Bantams' side who are having a fine season so far. They are riding high in League Two with one defeat on home soil so far, they are through to the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup, where they face Arsenal, and they overcame Northampton Town on penalties in an FA Cup first-round replay on Tuesday.

Their record at Valley Parade is good, with 16 goals scored and only five conceded from eight games, but Tully hopes City do not shy away from their new-found attacking prowess.

"I think we have to be like it away," he said. "Obviously, we have to have a good shape away from home and teams are going to try and break us down, but if we have a good structure to our game then we can hurt teams on the break.

"We are confident right now. We never lost any spirit or camaraderie when things weren't going for us, but results can get you down because you want to do well.

"The start we had was really pleasing, but every team is going to go through a dip. We have been through ours, we feel like we are over it now and we want to build on the last two results and there is no better way than going away to Bradford and getting a result.

"It was so frustrating because we were playing well, but results just weren't coming. We had to keep plugging away and believing."

Tully has now started Exeter's last nine games and, after a stint on the right wing, he is back in more familiar surroundings at right-back.

"I am enjoying it, to be fair," he said. "Wherever I play, I will play with a smile on my face, but it is nice to be back in my own position, which I haven't done for seven or eight games.

"But, wherever the manager picks me, I will go out and do my best."
