A missing cat has made her final journey home to Devon – after a mammoth ride on an inter-city train.

Polly the tabby stowed away under a carriage for 1,700 miles before she was rescued.

After spending two weeks at the vet, she was ready to be reunited with her owners at Plymouth railway station.

Kate Beech, a nurse in Penzance, said: "She has made an excellent recovery. She's put on a kilo in a week and had all her stitches out."
