Summer rain leaves clifftop road unsafe
A coastal road closed by a cliff fall following a period of heavy rainfall in the summer will not reopen, Devon County Council has confirmed.
Old Beer Road in Seaton was shut down in July when a 25-metre section of it crumbled away.

A geotechnical report was carried out which advised that further slippage was likely in the near future.
The slip is just 3.5 metres away from the coastal footpath and the report recommends that the footway should remain closed to the public.
