ON Friday, November 30, eight people from Hatherleigh had the opportunity to travel to London to attend the consecration of Nick McKinnel as Bishop of Crediton.

Nick was the rector at Hatherleigh from 1987 to 1994.

The honours were administered by Dr Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury.

Many clergy who had worked with Nick in the past travelled from far flung parts of the country to support him.
