'Surgery could do so more'
CALLS have been made for improved services at a Cullompton surgery so people with minor injuries can avoid a trip to hospital.
Marian Dummett, from Hammett Road, Cullompton, said an extension to the medical care offered at the Culm Valley Integrated Centre for Health would benefit those living in outlying villages.
She says those without the use of a car can struggle to attend the minor injuries unit at Tiverton and District Hospital.
Mrs Dummett said: "It is criminal having to go to Tiverton for minor injuries and burns but that is the situation."

John Finn, area director for NHS Devon, said: "I'm sure people understand it is not always possible to have every NHS service on their doorstep but Mrs Dummett's views are really important to us and we will keep them in mind when planning the future of local health services."
