TV chef's new restaurant will open in November
A chef and general manager have now been appointed by Gary Rhodes to run his new Rhodes@ The Dome restaurant in Plymouth.
Work is now well under way to convert the former tourist attraction, on the Hoe, into the TV chef's latest venture, which is due to open in November. Mr Rhodes is investing £1.5 million in the restaurant which will create more than 50 jobs as well as boosting Plymouth's profile.
It has been announced that Liam Rutherford has been appointed as chef to work directly with the TV chef. He currently works at Mr Rhodes' flagship W1 restaurant, in London.
"I loved Plymouth from the moment I first arrived, and the opportunity to continue working with Gary in such a superb location really is one that I could not possibly miss," he said. "I have already secured a home and will be moving down to Plymouth at the end of the month so that I can oversee the development of the kitchen and start meeting with local suppliers, fishermen and producers."

David Pover has also been appointed as general manager, joining from the St Ives Harbour Hotel.
"I spent a lot of my childhood in Plymouth, and so for me this is very much something of a homecoming, to be asked to open this restaurant and function facility really is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and, like Liam, I am looking forward to building a strong team from the local community," he said.
The restaurant will have a bar area which will seat 50 with a main dining area with 130 covers and two private dining rooms, one for 12 people and one for 20 people.
The restaurant says it will start taking reservations in October.
