Exmoor's Tarr Steps clapper bridge was reopened today after being almost totally destroyed by a wall of floodwater at Christmas.

The rebuild took seven men just days and cost Somerset ratepayers under £10,000 - a far cry from the engineering job exactly 60 years ago when it took 50 sappers from the Royal Engineers two months put Tarr Steps back together after flood damage.
