Teen's marathon run in memory of teacher
A BARNSTAPLE student has completed a mammoth charity run across North Devon following the tragic death of a former teacher earlier this year.
Matt Adamson, undertook the daunting run from Braunton to Barnstaple, via Bideford, on Saturday in a bid to raise money for Amigos Worldwide.
The 16-year-old decided to take on the challenge after the death of Sara Bluett, a teacher at Park Community School, Barnstaple, in March this year.
He said: "Some people said they wanted to do some fundraising but I decided to try and do something myself and I just like running really.

"The London Marathon had already happened but this was local. I knew the route I took well, which helped."
Joined by friends Phil Gladwin, Will Sutton and Ty Redif on bikes, Matt completed the marathon route in an impressive time of 4h 20m.
He said: "I told them that I was running the marathon and they asked if I wanted help.
"They carried things I needed like the water and just kept talking to keep my mind off everything."
So far Matt has raised more than £300 for Amigos, for which Miss Bluett had previously volunteered.
