NEW subsidised agricultural training courses are under way in Holsworthy provided by the programme Harvesting the Future.

The courses cover beef herd basics, foot trimming, and the safe use of pesticides (PA1), then Nap Sack spraying (PA6) and then lambing.

Further courses are planned on calving and telehandler tickets, and will all be subsidised by up to 50 per cent for anyone who lives or works in the Torridge area.

Harvesting the Future is the brainchild of Torridge District Council working with Bicton College, Penbode Vets, Kivells, Holsworthy Town Council, the NFU, Cornwall Farmers, Coodes, and Harpers Home Mix.
