Torquay United players back hospital's organ donation campaign
GULLS players have been backing a campaign to support organ donation.
Torquay United footballers have joined forces with Torbay Hospital in the launch of its new organ donation campaign, iLIVE iGIVE.
The drive focuses on encouraging people to celebrate life and inspire them to sign up to the organ donor register to could give the gift of life if anything should happen to them.
One donor can save or transform up to nine lives and many more can be helped through the donation of tissue.

Torbay Hospital's organ donation committee has designed and printed T-shirts which will be used as walking adverts and will also encourage people to get more involved with the social media aspect of the campaign.
The aim is for people to post images on Facebook and Twitter of themselves wearing the T-shirts at events, concerts, up mountains and doing extreme sports.
The committee is also contacting well-known role models and celebrities encouraging them to do the same.
The T-shirts also feature a QR code which can be scanned with smart phones to link direct to the organ donor register (ODR).
The iLIVE iGIVE campaign is another step in Torbay Hospital organ donation committee's ongoing plans to raise awareness and increase the number of donors on the ODR.
The committee is also keen that people share their wishes and opinions around organ donation with their family and friends.
By discussing end of life wishes and decisions in advance, it can help to reduce stress and anxiety at a very difficult time.
Maree Wright, clinical lead for organ donation at Torbay Hospital, said: "I am absolutely delighted to have the support of Torquay United in launching this exciting campaign.
"Thanks must also go to the many other local businesses who have agreed to help promote the campaign in the coming weeks.
"Almost all of us would take an organ if we needed one, yet only 30 per cent of us have joined the NHS organ donor register.
"I hope this campaign will encourage more people to actively demonstrate their belief in organ donation by using one of the many quick and simple ways of signing up."
Torquay United chairman Simon Baker added: "We are delighted to support this fantastic cause.
"We are proud to play our part in such an important campaign of raising awareness about organ donation."
