Torquay United snap up West Ham striker on loan
YOUNG West Ham striker Paul McCallum has joined Torquay United on loan.
McCallum, who has previously had loan spells at Wimbledon and Aldershot, was expected to join up with the Gulls squad at Burton on Tuesday night.
McCallum is on a one-month deal and goes straight into the United squad for tonight’s trip to Burton Albion.
The Hammers frontman, now 20, had two loan spells last season, with AFC Wimbledon and Aldershot Town, scoring a total of seven goals in his 18 appearances.

McCallum scored his first League goal against Torquay United on January 1 this year, in a 3-2 win for AFC Wimbledon.
‘’We hope he is the missing jigsaw piece and you don’t have to be a football genius to know we’re missing a little bit at the top end of the pitch,’’ said manager Alan Knill.
‘’Paul is something different. He scored goals last year for Aldershot and Wimbledon, and actually scored here for Wimbledon, and we’re very thankful to West Ham for letting him out.
‘’He’s been injured and now his fitness is good, but just needs games. He is a physical presence and an alternative option because you can’t always pass it around people in the box.
‘’On Saturday against Mansfield, we put a lot of good balls into the box but it was quite difficult for our players to get on the end of it, so a bit more size always helps.’’
