Torquay's Nathan Craig should be fit for the weekend despite early departure
Torquay United are confident that midfielder Nathan Craig will be available for Saturday’s npower League Two trip to Chesterfield, despite his withdrawal from the 1-1 home draw with Burton Albion.
Welshman Craig, 20, had to retire just before half-time with an ankle problem.

He had tried to continue for several minutes after treatment, but then limped off in the 42nd minute.
“Nathan tweaked ankle ligaments, and he’s had a day off training,” Torquay manager Martin Ling said yesterday. “But we’re very hopeful that he’ll be back in work very soon, and he should be fit for Chesterfield.

“Nathan may still be learning the professional game, but I thought we missed him after he went off last Saturday.”
United’s only other casualties, Damon Lathrope and Saul Halpin, remain longer-term absentees. Lathrope has been out for five weeks with a knee problem and Halpin is still out with an ankle injury.
Ling said: “Damon is hopefully a week away from getting back into training, and then it will be whatever it takes to get him back to match fitness.
“Saul has a bone crack in his ankle and we’re having to be very careful with him.
“He is progressing and the specialist is happy with the way that’s going, but it’s got to mend completely before he can get back into real training.”
United have no midweek commitments before their visit to Chesterfield, whom they knocked out of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win at the Proact Stadium last season.
The Spireites, relegated from League One in May, are still under caretaker boss Tommy Wright after the sacking of manager John Sheridan last month.
The Gulls are due to have their final work-out at Nottingham Forest’s training ground on Friday afternoon.
