THANKS to grant funding, a new gate has been installed on Torrington Commons.

TTVS, a charity which provides voluntary and community support in Torridge, gave the Great Torrington Commons Conservators £937 for a modern kissing gate.

The gate replaces the old stile for access to Reed's Field, up from the Puffing Billy at the bottom of Station Hill.

The new gate comes after concerns that the 365 acres of land and 20 miles of footpaths on the commons were inaccessible for people with mobility issues or people with prams.
