The English Riviera Tourism Company is focused upon establishing new international tourist markets in 2013.

It is set to welcome leading members of the tourism industry this week, as it launches its blueprint for the year ahead at its annual conference on Thursday.

New initiatives to be launched by the organisation and tourism partners from across South Devon have gained the support of VisitEngland, as part of a national campaign building on the opportunities for tourism growth presented by the Olympic legacy.

The conference has been held to coincide with English Tourism Week and will welcome Louise Stewart, director of strategy and development at VisitEngland, as a keynote speaker.

ERTC chief executive Carolyn Custerson said: "VisitEngland's visit is a huge vote of confidence. As a premier resort, we worked very closely with VisitEngland during the 2012 Olympics and we are determined to make the most of the Olympic legacy. An increase in overseas visitors is already being reported for 2013 with new opportunities for tourism growth from emerging markets including China, India and Brazil being seen."

More than 110 exhibitors and 300 pre-registered delegates are anticipated to attend the event, which will be held at the Riviera International Conference Centre.
