Tourism-related firms getting set for networking forum to boost business
TIME is ticking away for tourism companies to get involved in an event aimed at boosting business.
Hotels, bed and breakfasts, campsites, attractions and a host of other firms in the sector are invited to the networking event, organised by Teignbridge Council.
Teignbridge's Talking Tourism Forum takes place at Exeter Racecourse, Kennford, on November 9.
The forum — the second one of its kind — builds on the success of the inaugural Talking Tourism Forum held last year.

More than 100 businessmen and representatives from the area went to that summit, which helped industry leaders work together, share ideas and build relationships to help bolster Teignbridge's profile as a must-visit UK destination.
This year's event is in partnership with Visit South Devon and the Dartmoor Partnership.
It starts at 10.30am and there will be a number of guests who will offer expert advice.
Topics will include social media tips for tourism businesses, the importance of creative photography, customer service advice and more.
The forum also sees the return of the well-received 'two minute nuggets' feature — a chance for delegates to stand up and briefly explain their business to the audience.
Cllr Sylvia Russell, Teignbridge Council's executive spokesman for tourism, said: "The Talking Teignbridge Forum will be an excellent free event for our local tourism businesses.
"We have a huge variety of tourism businesses operating across the district and by working together we can pool ideas and find out what does work for our area and perhaps what doesn't."
Businesses need to register in advance to attend.
The deadline for registration is Thursday, October 25, and people should email economyandtourism@teignbridge.gov.uk

“Such rich wildlife in Costa Rica. I traveled to Costa Rica 3 years ago and I journeyed through the jungle and explored the tropical wildlife. As I trekked through the jungle path, monkeys were swinging from tree to tree and rainbow colored birds were fluttering. I also spotted three toed sloths, anteaters, and crocodiles by the river. The lush vegetation provided spectacular scenery. Costa Rica has become a major ecotour hub. They also have great beaches and resorts there. I spent some time at Palms Costa Rica at Flamingo Beach and got a spectacular beachfront setting. Such a rich experience.”
