The Chagford and District Business Association has announced the launch of its new destination website, Visit Chagford.

The website, www.visit chagford.com, aims to attract new visitors to the Dartmoor town by highlighting its independent shops, restaurants and art galleries, along with quirky attractions including its river-fed 'wild' swimming pool. It also boasts an events calendar that includes the town's new literary festival ChagWord, which kicks off on December 13.

The business association which has 67 members, secured £2,500 in match-funding from West Devon Borough Council's Economic Development and Regeneration Grant Scheme to support the project.

Two Chagford-based businesses, Design Centric and Round Ash Associates, were behind the website build, while Brixham-based Anita Newcombe Media and PR was behind the website's text.

West Devon Borough council said that there are grant scheme funds available to support similar not-for-profit, community and business organisation projects locally.
