Tributes today have been paid to the pensioner who died in hospital 13 weeks after a Devon road crash.
Patricia Anne Daniels, from Copplestone, Mid Devon, was described as a "strong, independent woman" who was an active member of her local Women's Institute.
Mrs Daniels, 78, passed away following a long battle fighting the injuries she received following a collision while driving home from Crediton on the A377 in November.
"Pat was an active member of the Copplestone community and a member of the local Women's Institute and contributed to the 2012 drive to secure £50,000 National Lottery funding for the creation of the Copplestone Recreation Field," her family said in a statement.

"Mrs Daniels was a London bus conductor for 30 years who witnessed and survived the London poll tax riots as part of her distinguished service.
"She then went on to fulfill her retirement wish of moving to the country with her animals.
"She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will remember Pat as a strong, independent woman who was known for her love of soap operas and animals.
"Pat was the owner of three cats and two border collies who she enjoyed taking for their daily walk in Shobrooke Park," the statement released through Devon and Cornwall Police concluded.
Police, meanwhile, have renewed their appeal for information into the pensioner's death in a November road crash.
Mrs Daniels died in the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital on last Monday, February 18, following the collision.
She was the driver of a red Nissan Almera which was in collision with a silver Volvo C70 on the A377 just before 5pm on at Barnstaple Cross, between Crediton and Copplestone.
The cause of the road crash is still being investigated and officers are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a Peugeot 306 which was being driven towards Barnstaple and may have witnessed what happened.
Drivers who were travelling in the opposite direction may also have valuable information.
