Truck leaks 130 litres of fuel onto A386 in Devon

A lorry carrying rubbish along the A386 became detached from its trailer, spilling 130 litres of diesel over the road.

Fire crews from Okehampton were called to the spillage near Folly Gate on the A386 outside Okehampton at 12:57pm.

The Highways Agency are currently at the scene removing the rubbish and helping to clear the fuel.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "The incident involved approximately 130 litres of diesel and a small quantity of hydraulic fluids spilled on the road.

Crews made the area safe using small tools and environmental packs.

The road is still closed while the clean up takes place.
