Try a Pimms in a cornet or a chilli ice cream
PIMMS, chocolate with chilli, and white chocolate with lime were the flavours of the day at the Devon County Show yesterday. Visitors to the food and drink marquee were enjoying a taste of three new ice cream flavours, courtesy of the Devonshire Farmhouse Ice Cream company and the Western Morning News.
The three flavours were created by readers in a competition to highlight the Dartmoor-based dairy company's search for new ideas for ice cream flavours. The winner was Carol Wood's summery creation, Pimms and Fruit; second was Cath Boness's Chocolate Chilli with a Hint of Citrus, and in third place was 16-year-old Barney Gush , whose Lime and White Chocolate recipe used white chocolate flavoured ice cream, with chunks of white chocolate and lime.

Tasting the second prize winning ice cream a couple were quickly arguing over who should finish it. Ian and Samantha Vincent, who make the ice cream using milk and cream from their family's herd of Guernsey cows, were thrilled at the number of innovative ideas.
"We wouldn't have thought of putting most of these combinations together, but they work really well," said Samantha. "Some were unbelievable." The company is selling 22 products, including four sorbets and two diabetic ice creams.
The prize winners will be at the show to receive their prizes which include a hamper of Devonshire Farmhouse Dairy products.
