Universities bid to attract Tom
DIVING star Tom Daley will be hoping to prove his doubters wrong by scoring a TV hit tonight.
The city Olympian is the star of prime-time ITV show Splash!, which attracted more than six million viewers for its first shows.
The teenager has been publicly criticised for his role in the reality show, which sees him train up celebrities to take the plunge.
The 18-year-old is currently subject to a bizarre bidding war as he prepares to decide whether to attend university.

Plymouth University is going head-to-head with Exeter University in a bid to woo him.
Both local universities are understood to have made offers to Tom to start degree courses when he completes his A Level courses.
The star is understood to have not yet decided whether to accept either offer – or several other offers made by universities in other parts of the country.
He is currently deciding whether to go straight on to university, take a year out or to not continue his education.
PLYMOUTH has been linked to Brest in France for 50 years this year.
An annual exchange visit is due to take place in September and the city's twinning panel hope the Plymouth Maids, Plymouth Morris men and Wreckers Morris will join in.
Activities in schools and libraries are also set to take place during the month.
There is also set to be an exchange of artists who will mount exhibitions in both cities.
Marilyn Goldsbrough, the chair of the Brest Twinning Panel, said: "Twinning with Brest still remains intact and is strong. Many Plymothians are unaware of the existence of this twinning link.
"Please contact Marilyn Goldsbrough on 01752 564847 if you have any groups or clubs interested in organising an anniversary exchange."
A MUSIC festival is to be held in Saltash next month.
The event will include a host of local bands and entertainers including Crossfire and Stu Hannaford.
There will also be a raffle and a buffet to raise money for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.
The indoor festival will take place on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1, at the Saltash Social Club.
A SCOUT group has organised a jumble sale to raise funds.
The 1st Plympton Scout Group event will be held next Saturday, January 26, at Cottles Lodge.
All cash raised will go to the group itself, which faces a constant battle to stay afloat.
The total to keep it running is over £5,000 per year, organisers said.
