University prepares for Chinese party
Staff and students at a Westcountry university are preparing to celebrate the biggest and most important festival in China.
The University of Exeter will commemorate the Year of the Snake on Saturday in the city centre and on the Streatham Campus.

Dragon and Lion dancers will parade through the city at lunchtime, followed by a Chinese market, martial arts demonstrations, performances and a fireworks display near the Forum building later in the day.
Despite snakes being associated with evil and fear in some cultures, in the Chinese horoscope the snake is endowed with luck, love, longevity and wealth.

Ryan Siyi Dong, PhD student in mathematics and head of the Chinese Society, said: "This celebration binds our hearts together with our family members. It reminds us the past year is fallen and the New Year has risen."
The official celebration day for Chinese New Year was last Sunday.
Mr Dong added: "Unfortunately, for many Chinese students we can't go home, so the Chinese Society is a kind of big family of Chinese students. Our society members would like to create an atmosphere like home to let the students know they are not alone."
