VIDEO: Police appeal in alleged Plymouth robbery bid case
POLICE investigating an alleged robbery attempt in Plymouth have released CCTV footage in a bid to track down a member of public.
An arrest was made after a man who needed hospital treatment told police a would-be robber had tried to take his mobile phone.
Officers hope a man shown standing in King Street, Stonehouse, and then talking to the alleged victim could have vital information about the case.
Detectives say the injured 26-year-old was on his phone walking along Wyndham Square, near the junction of Stoke Road, at around 7.15am on Sunday, August 18, when he was approached by another man from behind.

However, the victim kept a firm hold of his phone and after a short struggle the alleged mugger fled the area, heading towards the cathedral.
The 26-year-old was able to call the emergency services and paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to Derriford Hospital where he received treatment for deep cuts to his head. He was discharged later that day.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have been in the Wyndham Square area who may have seen a white man running from the area.
Officers want to trace a man who was seen sitting on the pavement at the junction of Stoke Road and Wyndham Square, wearing a suede jacket, around the time of the incident. It was hoped he had key information.
Now police have released CCTV footage filmed on King Street between 7am and 7.15am on the day of the alleged incident.
The member of the public, who appeared to be standing on his own outside the King Street flats, is described as a white man, of large build and wearing dark clothing.
He is not a suspect in the case but officers are keen to speak to him as a potential witness.
