Vibrant artwork finds ideal home
AN artist known for her vibrant paintings of birds and flowers will be exhibiting at the National Trust's A la Ronde from Saturday.
Helen Melland was born in Cambridge in 1971 and studied for a BA in Manchester and Buffalo (USA), she continued her studies at Chelsea and received an MA in Fine Art from Brighton University in 2002.
She is now living and working in Devon.
Asha Kuczynska, one of the team at A la Ronde, near Exmouth, said: "The art work at A la Ronde is accepted as being unique, unusual and quirky.
"Helen's work is to be shown in a habitat which is entirely suitable, surrounded as it is by the seaweed pictures, bird pictures, silhouettes and the shell gallery.
"Her bold and stylish work is particularly well-suited to complement the creative atmosphere which abounds in the house."
Admission to the exhibition in the tea-room is free during normal opening times.
