Liam Dickinson has been one of the keys to Southend’s push for promotion this season.

The 26-year-old has grabbed 11 goals in all competitions for the Blues – with nine of them coming in League Two.

Yet, it could have been all so different for Dickinson – and Southend.

He signed a one-year contract with Argyle at the start of pre-season training last July. However, only eight days later, Dickinson was released by the Pilgrims for what were described as ‘personal reasons’.
