WMN Letters: Satanists not to blame for attacks on animals
There are some very sick bunnies running loose in the Dartmoor area but one thing is certain – Satanist they are not. The ‘Satanic Calendar’ quoted is a fake produced to give substance for some of the 1980’s Ritual Abuse claims and like fantasies since then.
I have represented the Temple of Set (the world’s only legal Satanic Church) since my affiliation in 1987. Part of my duties has been to screen potential affiliates. In that time I have met sane and otherwise rational people, from those who want something more and are willing to sell their souls to the ‘Devil’, to a 60-plus year old graduate engineer with an OBE who dressed as a nun and a female masochist witch working at a Police HQ and whose ultimate goal was to be sacrificed!
Yet another was a transsexual who as a man desecrated a grave, taking the head, in order to perform a Black Magic ritual to turn into a woman. The ritual must have worked but when the new owners of his home found a dis-embodied head they called the Police who promptly arrested the newly converted maiden and she got eighteen months suspended sentence.
In this ‘Satanic Calendar’ it has St Winebald’s Day falling on 7th January and named as a day for ‘blood sacrifice’ and is utter bunk. St Winebald was a Saxon Saint who was a blood relation to St Boniface and died in 768 his feast day is 18th December.

Apart from fundamentalist dictionaries of supposed occult-symbols and satanic personality profiles so loose that 90% of the population would find themselves in clink, chief amongst those things which were designed by fundamentalist witch-hunters to ensure a maximum net catch was a Diary of Satanic Festivals.
Surprise, surprise, there was almost one ‘Satanic Festival’ for every day in the year, ensuring that whenever anything mysterious happened it would always fall on a ‘Satanic Festival’ and could therefore be blamed on them.
To illustrate this the ‘lecturers’ at the Met’s December 2005 Satan Seminar focussed on the ‘Satanic Festival’ of St Winebald’s Day which conveniently fell in that month. In interviews in the press and broadcast media the Satanic significance of St Winebald’s Day was emphasised as though beyond challenge and it was claimed with utmost certainty that it was a day when Satanists would Sacrifice animals and humans!
These animal slaughters and mutilations are nothing more than copy cat actions with a degree of theatrics copied from any number of publications.
There was in existence a nasty group called ‘The order of the Nine Angles’ created by a former British neo Nazi. At its dissolution the ONA posted all of their material on line which really has to be viewed to realise just how murderous this group was. It promoted ‘culling’ by sacrifice to name one teaching and general promotion of human and animal sacrifice which is where the Dartmoor sickos probably got their ideas from.
Some of the ONA publications are still available. My experience and track record with the Temple of Set is a matter of recorded fact, readily available in the public domain.
