AN arrest warrant has been issued for an alleged cowboy builder who is believed to have fled to Thailand to escape fraud charges.

Darren Scott is being hunted by police over a £20,000 fraud against a woman customer at South Zeal, near Okehampton, last year. Scott, 43, from Gappah, Chudleigh, failed to appear before Exeter Magistrates' Court for the case brought by Devon Trading Standards.

Rosemary Rose, for the prosecution, said Scott may be in Thailand.
