Weather hots up as autumn beckons
Paralympic athletes and spectators, plus late holidaymakers enjoying a day at the beach, can expect to enjoy dry and warm weather for the rest of the week, weathermen promised yesterday.
Temperatures are set to rise at the Olympic Park over the coming days, with forecasters predicting the mercury will hit a high of 26C (78.8F) for Sunday's closing ceremony.

And while it was not quite as hot in Weston-super-Mare (pictured above) holiday bosses are hoping the late summer sun will help put a better complexion on a poor summer season.
Sports fans have experienced mixed weather so far during the Paralympic Games, as more than one million people have watched athletes compete across 21 sports.

Aisling Creavey, forecaster at MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said: "We are going to see a period of dry and settled weather between now until the end of the week as an area of high pressure hangs over the UK . Today and tomorrow will see sunny spells in London, with temperatures up to 20 or 21C (69.8F).
"It will be slightly cloudier around the park on Friday but it will remain dry with temperatures reaching around 23C (73.4F).
"On Saturday it will be cloudy in the morning but will remain fine with highs of around 24C (75.2F). It will stay dry into Sunday evening when the weather will be even warmer and sunnier, with temperatures reaching 26C."
