Weekend sport fixtures suffer due to extreme weather

TORRENTIAL RAIN, flood warnings and today's forecast 60mph winds has seen the postponement of all but a few local sport fixtures this weekend. 

In football, all fixtures in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League East, including Totnes & Dartington v Stoke Gabriel, Newton Abbot Spurs v Crediton United and Appledore v Galmpton United are all OFF.

Both the WBW Solicitors South Devon Football League today, and the Torbay Sunday League tomorrow, have had all their fixtures postponed due to the weather. 

The South West Counties championship match scheduled for Sunday 25th November between Devon and Dorset has also been postponed due to the predicted rain and implications of Dorset travelling.

In rugby, Torquay Athletic's 1st XV game away to Truro has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, also suffering are Buckfastleigh's home match against Plympton-Victoria, Paignton v Chard, which will be replayed on Saturday, December 22. 

Any other fixtures occurring this weekend are being subjected to pitch inspections prior to scheduled start of the game. Please check with the club in question before travelling to avoid disappointment.
